Darren may not have been born round here, but you would never guess. He's as much of a local as all our many regular customers and he creates a real sense of community here at The Alford. There's always a smile on his face and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Andy is Darren's number two and joined us from sister pub The Old Queens Head in Penn a couple of years back. Ever the gentleman, you'll always feel cosseted when he's around. Finally, we wouldn't be without our fab Assistant Manager Dave, who helps keep the rest of the team relaxed with his laid back ways.

Rupes, our Head Chef came to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience from all around the globe. He's a true gastropub devotee and though his style is light, the flavours are knockout. Best of all he seem's to have found a true home here at The Alford.

Then there is our secret weapon, the truly superb front of house team. Whilst the pub is lauded for it's food and drink, the compliments abound for our staff. They thrive on being busy, yet always keep their wit and humour with them and manage to make every customer feel special. As The Saturday Telegraph put it "this place has the same sort of feel-good factor as a Richard Curtis movie."
